A little silly love story about two geeks

Wed Sep 2, 2009, 10:16 AM
Are you sitting comfortably? We shall now begin... This is a story based on fact and although i am not a very good story writer/teller I thought it would be worth writing anyway.
There once was a girl, let’s call this girl D, who lived at one end of the great Island Kingdom. In her little town many folk where playing with light flash image creators and she became perplexed by such great technology, when she had the chance to hold one of these inventions she just couldn’t get to grips with the device. She asked her friend Polly for some help and she told D great stories of a legend who lived in the centre of the kingdom who could create electronic pixel grids like no other, when D enquired further she was eventually given the name of this master, Dan[dy], and his snake mail (much faster than snail mail) address .
Their first meeting in the virtual realm was a short affair, but sweet, consisting of hellos and goodbyes. The length was mainly due to the religious sacrifice D had to attend and the consumption of the finest delicacy that the central isle could offer Dan[dy]. This first meeting was a rarity, not only because in the future there would never be such a short conversation again, but also they both prioritised other things over each other. Within days of regular virtual chats, over great numbers of cups of tea and coffee, cupid struck them both with a permanent spell(/curse depending on your perspective) which caused them to become completely selfless when it came to the other, they would fully depend on each other and yearn for each other’s company.
Over the course of the next few weeks they both withdrew from the real world, spending more and more time within the depths filled with pretend cafes, comfy sofa and general warmth. Although they had commitments during the wake hours of the world, which they had to adhere to because of the ruling of the knights , they spent the moon hours chatting, discovering the ins and outs of the other, every detail, constant questions, virtual hugs.
The time came when they couldn’t pretend anymore. The cupids curse caused a bitted sweet addiction and the dose needed to be increased. No priest could heal this love sick pair, the only way to achieve temporary relief from the pain was to discover everything, this meant that Dan[dy] and D needed to know each others smells, to know exactly how the other made tea, how the other hugged, what difference in height there was, the only way to understand fully would be to be to meet in the real world so one day they decided to quest, Dan[dy] chugged along, at a foot over the ground, the great distance across the Kingdom to his D.
And they lived happily ever after the end :-)

i know exactly what you mean, i'm always doubting myself, i think most people find it hard to see the best in their own work. Every kind comment, every favourite and every watch means so much, i think it's just reassurance x
